The Excellence Academy Charter School for the Performing Arts began in 2013. It is a Type 1 Charter School authorized by the Monroe City School Board.
Its expressed mission is to provide rigorous classroom instruction for students of the Monroe City School System while providing an intense program of performing and visual arts.
It is a regular Monroe City School that has been given a special mission to accomplish: promote the arts among at-risk students while preparing them to enter high school on grade level.
The school is sponsored by Tab-N-Action, Inc., a community service corporation composed of members of the New Tabernacle Baptist Church and friends of the Monroe Community. It is tax exempt non-profit community service corporation.

There is no tuition to attend the Excellence Academy Super School. The only costs that parents will incur during a scholar’s three year tenure at Excellence is the initial cost of a uniform. The school provides: A polo shirt, a long sleeve T-Shirt, Ipads, Notebook computers, pens, paper, field trip costs, and all other supplies needed to participate in the schools extensive program.
The staff of the Super School is comprised of some of the best teachers and administrators in our area; all dedicated to helping scholars achieve excellence!
